Day by day
First Taste
- Day 1
1 Arrival and Getting Your Bearings Arrival in Natal and transfer to São Miguel (1h30): We recommend leaving Natal around 8am. The road is scenic — you'll already start to feel the shift in pace. Arrive at your accommodation, unwind for a bit, take a deep breath. First beach: Praia de Tourinhos: Start with the most accessible beach — Tourinhos. Warm water, white sand, no crowds. Swim, walk along the shore, dig your feet into the sand and take in the horizon. This is your first "reset". Sunset here is practically guaranteed (unless it's a rare cloudy day). Afterward, have dinner at a local restaurant — garlic shrimp, fresh seafood. Leave the rush of Natal behind.
- Day 2
2 Immersion in Beaches and Gastronomy Sunrise walk (optional but recommended): If you wake up early, take a walk on the empty beach. You'll see only your own footprints. The silence here is different — it's not the absence of sound, it's the presence of nature. Visit a local café or beach stall. Talk to the fishermen about local life. They have stories no guidebook offers. Try homemade coconut cake, filtered coffee, fresh fruit juice. Praia de Galinhos: full-day outing. The buggy ride through the dunes takes up the whole day, so it's not the best plan for families with small children. For adults, it's one of the most beautiful experiences in the region: fine dune lagoons and lunch by the riverbank. A different sunset: Watch the sunset from a different spot than day one.
- Day 3
3 Going Deeper, Saying Goodbye Dunas da Lagoa do Sal by quad bike: Climb the dunes of Lagoa do Sal by quad bike, between bright white sand and still freshwater. It's the most fun outing in the region and the best way to close out the trip. Beach picnic: Buy local ingredients (fruit, cheese, fresh coconut water) and put together a simple picnic on the sand. This is Slow Travel — no rush, just presence. Return trip or one last outing: If you're leaving at the end of day 3, make time for one last activity — visit a local craft shop, buy souvenirs, have coffee at a spot that's already become your favorite. Transfer to Natal (if flying that day) or extend the night: If you're leaving that day, take the transfer at an easy pace. Look out the car window. You're already different from when you arrived 3 days ago.
